SIF21 is strongly committed to providing an open and welcoming arena where participants are treated with dignity and respect, and are free to be themselves. We encourage all participants to approach the Forum with an open and positive attitude, and by doing so, ensuring a pleasant and meaningful experience for all.

Our principles

As the host of Stockholm Internet Forum (SIF), Sida is committed to providing all participants with a friendly, safe, and inclusive environment, regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression, ethnicity, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, disability, religion, or other status. SIF21 will take place exclusively online. The same rights that people have offline are equally to be protected online.

This Code of Conduct outlines expectations of participants’ behaviour during SIF – offline as well as online – and the consequences for unacceptable behaviour. The Code of Conduct applies to the Forum, Forum-related social events, as well as any other platform or fora related to SIF and/or SIF-related activities online  or offline.

As a participant of SIF21 you are expected to

  • Be considerate and respectful towards others.
  • Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory or harassing behaviour and speech.
  • Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow participants.
  • Respect privacy, i.e. In order to respect the privacy and safety of others, do not post, publish or share any sensitive information and/or information about individuals (both offline and online) unless you obtain their explicit consent. This also includes pictures and tagging on social media.

Alert the Response Team if you notice a dangerous situation or someone in distress.
