Code of Conduct for Stockholm Internet Forum, SIF 2019
As the host of Stockholm Internet Forum, Sida is committed to providing all participants with a friendly, safe and inclusive environment, regardless of, gender, age, sexual orientation, transgender identity or expression, ethnicity, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, disability, religion or other status.
The same rights that people have offline must also be protected online
This code of conduct outlines expectations of the participants behavior during SIF – both in person/ offline as well as online, and the consequences for unacceptable behavior. The code of conduct applies to the conference and all conference-related social events.
As a participant of SIF 2019 you are expected to:
- Be considerate and respectful towards others.
- Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory or harassing behavior and speech.
- Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow participants. Alert staff if you notice a dangerous situation or someone in distress.
Unacceptable behavior
Examples of unacceptable behavior include: intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory or demeaning conduct. Harassment of all kinds are unacceptable such as (but not limited to): offensive verbal comments related to gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, religion. Deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and any unwelcome conduct of sexual nature that might be expected or be perceived to cause offense or humiliation, is prohibited at SIF 2019, and most are prohibited under Swedish law.
Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior
Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated. Actions performed in violation of this Code of Conduct can result in suspension from SIF 2019.
Respecting Privacy
In order to respect the privacy and safety of others, do not post, publish or tweet any information about individuals unless you obtain their explicit consent. This also includes pictures and tagging on social media.
What to Do If You Witness or Are Subject to Unacceptable Behavior
If you are subject to, or notice that someone else is being subjected to unacceptable behavior in violation of this Code of Conduct, or have any other concerns please notify a member of staff as soon as possible.
